Ufc 162 silva vs. weidman

Never underestimate your opponent!

I have a little feeling that this is going to happen soon, anderson silva being knockout and as being said, anderson was indeed been knockout in ufc162. Anderson was playing inside the octagon, he was trying to mess Chris Weidman's mind but it backfired.

I had to admit i was still in shock with the result, the same feeling when i watch Pacqiauo-Marquez IV. A pound for pound the best in the world has fallen, and in the same manner they got KTFO although Pacquiao's KO was far worse.

Now going back to Anderson's defeat, the fight was like watching a crappy stand up comedian, Anderson tries to entertain the people by trying to be comedic, putting his hands down, putting his face in front of Weidman, inviting Weidman to come in to kick him or punch him or in other words too cocky. How many times we've seen Anderson being too cocky inside the octagon only this time it got the better of him.

During the post fight interview, it's like Anderson is hinting he is over being a champion, he is tired defending his belt for almost 7 years. Are we seeing the last of Anderson Silva? Is he considering retirement? I know your were gracious in defeat Anderson, but that lost and that attitude inside the octagon was embarrassing and i must say the jokes on you.

Congratulations on Chris Weidman you really deserve the belt, you are disciplined not to fall for Anderson's tricks. The spotlight now is on you, enjoy the moment champ!

Next up, how about a Weidman - Jones match up?

I have seen a lot of macro photography, id like to say macro photography is odd to watch because these are images you wont be seeing that close everyday . The pictures below is taken by LEE PEILING from Tanzania, what i like bout these photos is the used of the colors in the background together with the subject makes the image surreal, it's like painted.

BORACAY IN APRIL 1979

BORACAY ISLAND, PHILIPPINES  APRIL 1979

I came to saw this blog about Boracay in 1979 and it caught my attention how beautiful Boracay was, a paradise back then, i was really amazed. It reminded me when i was a kid,  during summer vacation we would travel to Leyte to visit relatives, those were the days that i would love to reminisce and wish i could turn back time. Those days are long gone now, indeed times change quickly and so is BORACAY.

Here is what the author posted.

Boracay in the summer of 1979: only one tourist on the beach, only one bangka in the water, fully grown coconut trees along the whole length of the beach, two negrito boys taking a walk, no construction of any sort along the beach.

Our "resort" in Boracay, simply called Aguirre's Place, located in the grounds of what is now Bans Beach Resort. The rooms cost P7 per night in 1979.

The trail from the North end to the South end of the beach: coconut trees as far as the eye could see.

The sunset seen through the coconut trees from the lanai of Aguirre's Place.

The beach in front of Aguirre's Place.

Let us compare what Boracay looks like in 2012

Just along the shoreline a lot of business establishments are already been put up

Sailboats are all over the place, these boats are for rent for island hopping
Tourists flock the island during summer time, but this summer it's raining.

We can still see a few locals around the island, with a skimboard :)

Those old nipa huts were gone, we would see building structures within the bay area.
That lovely paradise that was in 1979 was long gone, but we are lucky enough to witness what is Boracay today, i wish the government would preserve the beauty of the island even with the structures that is being put up in the island, or if not i'm blessed to visit the place and enjoy the paradise, so if you haven't visited the island go check it out before it's too late.

Enjoy Boracay!

Glow-in-the-dark mushroom rediscovered after 170 years

Spotted once in 1840 and then never seen again, one of the world's most bioluminescent mushrooms has been rediscovered deep in the Brazilian wilderness.

It's something you would never expect to go missing, but one of the world's brightest glow-in-the-dark mushrooms has been rediscovered after an absence of more than 170 years, according to USA Today.

The bioluminescent shrooms had become a Brazilian legend of sorts. They were first spied in 1840 by an English botanist named George Gardner, who was alarmed after he saw some boys playing with a glowing object in the streets of Vila de Natividad, a village in the Goiás state in central Brazil. After that, no more sightings of the brightly glowing fungus had ever been reported.

The mushroom was nearly forgotten until 2002, when Brazilian chemist Cassius Stevani came across Gardner's early reports. Then, in 2005, a breakthrough occurred. A pair of primatologists, Patricia Izar from São Paulo University in Brazil and Dorothy Fragaszy of the University of Georgia in Athens, were studying a band of monkeys deep in the Brazilian interior when they came across something mysterious glowing at the base of some palm trees.

Izar and Fragaszy scooped up specimens and contacted Stevani, who later confirmed that the mushrooms were indeed Gardner's long lost species. The findings are what led to this month's paper in the journal Mycologia.

Ironically, right after the rediscovery of the mushrooms, scientists came to learn that local people were quite familiar with them. In fact, the mushrooms had a common name, flor-de-coco, or flower of the coconut, since it is commonly found on the rotting fronts of dwarf palm trees. As is often the case, scientists had just never bothered to ask.

Although glowing fungi are nothing new to science — there are 71 identified species — this particular species (named Neonothopanus gardneri, after the initial discoverer) is notable for its size and the extraordinary strength of its light.

"It glows more brightly than almost all other luminescent mushrooms," said Dennis Desjardin, a fungi expert at San Francisco State University. "If you were in a dark room and you put one on a newspaper, you'd be able to read the words."

Desjardin also noted that these mushrooms can grow up to three inches in diameter, which is giant compared to most bioluminescent fungi.

Stevani is currently working to identify the chemical pathways that allow these mushrooms to produce light, a system that remain a mystery to science. As for why they glow, scientists still aren't sure why it happens. One theory suggests that the mushrooms may glow to attract insects that help to spread their spores. Another theory, also involving the attraction of insects, proposes that the light is a beacon to predatory bugs that feed on insects that threaten the fungus.

One thing researchers are certain of, however, is that these mushrooms are poisonous. So while the mushrooms' glow-in-the-dark properties may be interesting to people, researchers strongly advise that they shouldn't be eaten.

BREAKING NEWS; Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith to split

One of my favorite couple in Hollywood split after  14 years. this is sad! Blame it all on J-lo and Marc they started it this year!

Report: Will Smith, wife Jada, to split

Will Smith, the West Philly rapper turned movie star, and his wife, actress Jada Pinkett Smith, have decided to separate, according to In Touch Weekly.
"An insider" is the only source named by the celebrity news magazine, and no confirmation - or denial - had been issued as of this morning by the couple's publicists, other news outlets say.
The two were married in 1997, and had two children together, Willow, who had a hit song with "Whip My Hair," and Jaden, who costarred with his father in Pursuit of Happyness, and starred in a remake of The Karate Kid.
Smith has a son, Trey, from an earlier marriage.
Whether the Smiths have had an open marriage, accepting of occasional flings, has been widely discussed - and distorted. He explained a couple of years ago that they openly admit being attracted to other people, and would ask permission of the other first before having sex with someone else.
But apparently neither has publicly admitted to having any affairs.
The couple was recently featured on the cover of Architectural Digest, showing off their Calabasas, Calif., mansion, and talking about all the love that went into its handcrafted furnishings.
"For Will and me this home was always a spiritual endeavor," Jada said.
Another endeavor together was New Village Leadership Academy, a Calabasas private school they funded. After rumors of involvement with Scientology, the couple denied any affiliation between the school or themselves to the psychology-based religion.
Will Smith also made headlines during the filming of Men in Black III by parking his oversize trailer on a Manhattan Street. At the mayor's request, he moved it and a separate trailer for his gym to a paid parking lot.
Smith turned a starring role on TV's Fresh Prince of Bel-Air into a film career, including such hits as Bad Boys, Independence Day, I Robot, Ali, Enemy of the State, and Hancock.

What Is Emphysema?

LONDON (AP) -- Amy Winehouse's family says toxicology tests show there were no illegal drugs in her system when she died.
They say the tests showed "alcohol was present," but it hasn't yet been determined if it played a role in the singer's death last month.
The 27-year-old soul diva was found dead in her London home on July 23, and an initial post-mortem failed to determine the cause of death.
A statement released Tuesday by spokesman Chris Goodman on the family's behalf said "toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy's system at the time of her death."
It said the family awaited the outcome of an inquest that is due to begin in October.

SCIENTIST WARN THAT ALIENS MAY COME TO DESTROY US

The news is quite disturbing if it may happen, no doubt it will happen in the future because i believe there are other living creatures outside our world, considering how big the galaxy is. We are not alone earthlings!

Scientists warn that aliens may come to destroy us

There have been 20-30 major Hollywood alien apocalypse movies released in the last year or so, and more are on the way. They’re unavoidable. Some of them are cataloged here, but there are almost too many to count. As such, it’s no wonder that scientists have hostile aliens on the brain. Several researchers have released a study that says there is a good chance aliens will come and wipe us out if they think we’re irresponsible, expanding too quickly, or a number of other reasons, reports the IB Times. The researchers point to humanity’s own history of hostility toward unfamiliar humans, chimpanzees, and gorillas as evidence.
“Just as we did to those beings, the extraterrestrials might proceed to kill, infect, dissect, conquer, displace or enslave us, stuff us as specimens for their museums or pickle our skulls and use us for medical research,” says the study, published in the journal Acta Astronautica.
Another argument is that, by nature, if we contact aliens through programs like SETI, which will be relaunching in September, the aliens we contact will have to be more technologically advanced than us to even communicate properly. And if they have more advanced technology than us, they could come to harm us.
“A core concern is that ETI will learn of our presence and quickly travel to Earth to eat or enslave us,” says the study.
But what has really changed since programs like SETI began? Well there are more of us, but that’s about it. There will always be remote danger in discovering something (or someone) you don’t know. That’s science. Honestly, we think the only real danger here is in how much time scientists are spending watching the trailer for Battleship. Perhaps Hollywood is taking its toll.
(P.S. If you meet an alien, please don’t tell it that we’re planning on leaving earth anytime soon. Also, show it that you are compassionate and recycle. And whatever you do, don’t show it Avatar. Maybe then it won’t kill us all.)

HOW TO MASTER WALKING WITH YOUR DOG

I'm usually having a hard time walking with my dog Stubby. She is so stubborn that sometimes i feel embarrass when i tried going her out in the public. I usually am the one that got pulled instead of her LOL.  If you too got the same problem with you dog i found out a great article from the 'man' himself Cesar Millan how to walk your dog and being the pack leader! Check it out what Cesar has got to say.

Cesar's 6 Tips for Mastering the Walk
I often walk about ten dogs at a time, sometimes even off-leash if I'm in a safe area. People are amazed by this, but it's simple: the dogs see me as their pack leader. This is why dogs follow me wherever I go.
  • Position matters. Walking in front of your dog allows you to be seen as the pack leader. Conversely, if your dog controls you on the walk, he’s the pack leader. You should be the first one out the door and the first one in. Your dog should be beside or behind you during the walk.
  • Use a short dog leash. This allows you to have more control. Attaching the leash to the very top of the neck can help you more easily communicate, guide, and correct your dog. If you need additional help, consider the Illusion collar. Always keep your dog's safety in mind when giving corrections.
  • Set aside time. Dogs, like humans, are diurnal, so taking walks in the morning is ideal. I recommend setting aside thirty minutes to a full hour. The specific needs of each dog differ. Consult your vet and keep an eye on your dog's behavior to see if his needs are being met.
  • Define exploration time. After your dog has maintained the proper state of mind, reward him by allowing him to relieve himself and sniff around. Then you need to decide when reward time is over. It should always be less than the time spent focused on the walk
  • Don't punch out. When you get home, don't stop leading. Have your dog wait patiently while you put away his leash or take off your shoes.
  • Share food and water. By providing a meal after the walk, you have allowed your dog to "work" for food and water.
And don’t forget to set a good example by always picking up after your dog!
